Ingredients
Store-bought pastry dough (or you can make your own)
Roquefort cheese
Parmesan cheese
Provolone cheese
2 to 3 onions
1 egg
Chili powder
Directions
- Cut the onions and cook them in a pan for 10 minutes with a little olive oil and a pinch of salt
- Let the onions rest until cool
- Cut and mix the different cheeses in the desired proportions. Keep in mind that Roquefort cheese is always used in a smaller proportion than the rest since its flavor is a bit intense.
- Now it’s time to make your empanadas one by one
- To give them the classic golden color, paint each empanada with an egg. Optionally put a pinch of sugar on top
- Put the empanadas in the oven at maximum power and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Enjoy!
Notes
- The empanadas can be made with store-bought pastry dough or you can make them homemade with flour, oil, salt, and water. The filling consists of cheese (can be more than one type), onion, and a few tablespoons of chili powder
