Scones without butter

If you love a buttery scone but are looking for a dairy-free alternative, this is the perfect recipe for you! Our scones without butter recipe uses a blend of plant-based ingredients that deliver the same taste and texture as the traditional recipe. 


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream


  • Mix all dry ingredients and then the heavy cream.
  • Dust a work surface with flour and place dough. Pat dough into a 1 1/4-inch-thick rectangle with floured hands and cut out as many rounds as possible with a biscuit cutter, or even a round glass. Gather scraps, reroll once, and cut out more rounds.
  • Place scones in a prepared baking sheet and bake for around 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
